Puerto Vallarta Hotel vs. Vacation Rental?

I’m headed to Puerto Vallarta for the first time early March. Should I stay in a hotel? Or book a house on the beach? What area should I stay in? Also, what are the best beaches? All I want is to lay in the sand with the sun on my face without a lot of hassle.

i would rent a vacation rental, you can get some that are really nice for the same price as a hotel. They give you so much privacy – when i went there i rented a villa on the beach. Especially if your going there to relax your going to want to stay in one because if you get one on just a little beach you dont have to deal with the hassel and noise of the people at a hotel.
